The Revolution Starts Here

The Turbo Times has basically just been the place where I've posted school papers but I would like to focus it on music and its political implications. I also shamelessly use the site as a self promotional tool for my band's music. I think I need to start providing avenues for participation from readers. I would like to also provide a space for musicians to be able to distribute music without the need for a record company, which is now made possible because of the internet. We can now create a forum for musicians to speak freely without a record label or broadcast company telling them what they can and can't say.

Any suggestions?

I think approaching music from it's connections to and influences upon people - politically or otherwise - would be a novel angle. I'm intrigued.

I was reading through some of your posts and I liked the idea of your 10th grade research paper. Maybe you could take different politically charged artists/bands/songs/etc. and break them down. Focus on different time periods, different genres and more. The entire time you're posting, you could invite readers to join in with their comments, work, etc. Eventually if you build a readership, you wouldn't have to post as much because of the participation of your readers.

That idea has nothing to do with your record company idea, but it's a suggestion.
